Introducción

Gas chromatography is a powerful tool for volatile and semi-volatile species in battery materials, but its application faces significant challenges. Many electrolyte components and degradation products are thermally labile or highly reactive, leading to on-column decomposition and poor quantification.

Complex matrices, including salts and additives, cause adsorption, peak tailing, and column fouling, demanding frequent maintenance and careful selection of stationary phases. Moisture and trace impurities from sample handling can obscure low-level analytes critical to performance and safety.
