Determining Pesticides in Tomatoes through GCxGC-TOFMS

This application note demonstrates a GCxGC-TOFMS workflow using LECO’s Pegasus BT for detecting and quantifying pesticides in peeled tomatoes. The complex tomato matrix presents numerous interferences, which are effectively separated using two-dimensional chromatography. Combined with fast acquisition, high sensitivity, and deconvolution capabilities, this method ensures accurate identification and quantitation of targeted pesticides to meet food safety requirements.
